Atlantic Cape Community College has obtained IBM Lenovo laptop computers to assist with student technology needs.

Prior to using the Atlantic Cape Community College laptop computers and related equipment, students will be required to sign this computer loaner form and agree to the following outlined conditions before being issued a computer.

1.       Students shall protect the Atlantic Cape Community College loaner laptop computer and related equipment from damage and theft.

2.       Students agree that the loaner laptop computer is contingent on the student staying enrolled with 6 credits or more. If a student either stops attending Atlantic Cape or decides to enroll in less than 6 credits, the student must bring the laptop back to the college. If the student does not return the laptop, the student will be responsible for reimbursing Atlantic Cape Community College for the fair market value of the laptop at the time of non-return. The student can contact the Information Technology Department for scheduling the drop off at [email protected].

3.       Atlantic Cape Community College has agreed to transfer permanent ownership of the loaner laptop to the student when the student becomes eligible to graduate.

4.       Students who choose to store school data (grades, tests or exams) will be required to maintain backups of all data in the event of hardware or software failure.

5.       Students who choose to store personal data on the loaner laptop such as Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and Personal Health Information are doing so at their own risk. It is highly recommended students do not save passwords to secure websites such as Email, Blackboard, and Self-Service.  Atlantic Cape Community College will not be held responsible for any data loss or breach.

6.       Students will be required to maintain the Windows operating system and software applications. The Atlantic Cape Information Technology team will not provide operating system, application software and support.

7.       The hardware has been purchased with 2-year accidental protection. Students may contact Lenovo directly for repair or replacement or return the equipment to IT for exchange.  The Atlantic Cape Information Technology department will provide support for hardware issues only.

8.       Atlantic Cape’s Information Technology department strongly recommends that the students install Anti-Malware protection and to enable automatic Windows updates. Various Anti-Malware packages can be obtained free of charge such as Avast, Kaspersky, AVG, and Bitdefender.
